It’s easy to get lost in the amount of content on Netflix, but there are still plenty of shows and movies that aren't available on the streaming platform. Some of the omissions are obvious—something like Game of Thrones may be one of the most popular shows on TV, but it’s owned by HBO, which has its own streaming service. Other series, especially forgotten cult classics, may have simply slipped through the cracks.

Thankfully, there’s something you can do about it. It’s not a feature that has gotten a lot of attention, but Netflix does have a way for you to request a show or movie that isn’t yet available to stream. All you have to do is log into your account and go to the Help Center. Once there, you’ll see a link for Request TV Shows or Movies.

Once you click on the link, you’ll be brought to a page where you can input up to three suggestions for shows or films that you feel the company should make available. Afterwards, you’ll be brought to a screen that thanks you for your requests, but notes that not every show or movie is so easy to get.

There are issues to consider, like legalities, cost, popularity, and other quirks that might make it impossible to have certain content available to stream. Even if a show is available for Netflix to snatch up, there’s still no guarantee it’ll happen. Still, it’s worth a shot. Who knows? Maybe you’ll be the reason why a cult favorite show like Veronica Mars or a forgotten gem like The Critic gets new life.
